In the blink of an eye...

I was going through my photos the other day and noticed how fast Calvin (my sister's son) is growing up. The last time I saw him was at my brother's wedding and at that time, Calvin was crawling and just starting to teethe. As you can see now, his teeth are in and he loves to chew on things! He's also walking around everywhere and apparently loves climbing up stairs. I also found a great picture of Calvin and his mother from way back when. Well, I guess it wasn't that long ago after all.

Mt. Hood Railroad

While down in Portland this past weekend, my parents took us on the Mt. Hood Railroad Excursion Train. The train takes you through the Columbia Gorge to Parkdale and then back to Hood River. It was the first time my sister's son, Calvin, had ever been on a train and he had a great time trying to balance while we chugged along.

Summer weather!

After some typical northwest spring weather, the past few days have been truly amazing. With highs in the mid 70's, it was time to get out and enjoy the sun. On Sunday afternoon I wandered down to Lake Union in downtown Seattle and enjoyed a little exercise while kayaking. Nothing like rowing in a huge lake with a cool breeze surrounded by incredible views. Ahhh, what a great world it is out there.
Behind this classic speed boat is the Seattle skyline, including the space needle on the far right.
In this shot, the sun is beaming from behind the sails.
